Here’s a charming place to stay in a local’s home in Mauritius. You’ll be perfectly located for visiting the west of the country!

You’ll be staying just 300m away from the large white sandy beach of Flic-en-Flac, close to shops and restaurants, and you’ll enjoy a comfortable room suitable for 2 to 4 people.

The establishment also features a large outdoor swimming pool, a garden, and a welcoming communal lounge.

Special mention for the warm and friendly welcome, the neat decoration, and the little attentions given to each guest.

If you’re looking for a guest house in Mauritius to visit the west, I also recommend the Lariad BnB, located in the heart of Flic-en-Flac.

The house and its manager are very welcoming. The establishment has several comfortable rooms, spacious, with simple decoration, double bed, and private bathroom.

You can also enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools, an exotic garden and a large sunny terrace where breakfast is served every morning.

The beach is just a 15-minute walk away, and you are also close to shops and transport to make getting around easier.

Here’s my favorite place to stay with the locals on Mauritius island: La Case Mama!

This beachfront guest house offers the chance to sleep on Pointe d’Esny Beach, in one of three beach bungalows.

These consist of small thatched-roof huts set up directly on the sand just meters from the sea!

Each bungalow includes a double bed and a small adjoining bathroom.

The guesthouse also has several rooms inside the family home.

Every morning, a breakfast is served in the communal dining room, to be shared with other travelers.

A lovely place for a relaxing stay, while being perfectly located to explore the Southeast of Mauritius!
