If you’re torn between a hotel and a guest house near Grand Bay in Mauritius, Sous le Badamier will fulfill all your expectations!

Guest Houses near Flic en Flac (West coast)

The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything necessary to make you feel at home.

The large balcony upstairs offers a stunning view of the ocean.

You’ll also enjoy the beautiful garden that opens right onto the beach, with a swimming pool and loungers to soak up the sun, plus a barbecue for your friendly evening gatherings.

The hosts of this house are available, friendly, and provide very good advice.

A superb guest house in Mauritius where you should expect to pay around 100€ per night for a double room for two people.

Aux Plaisirs de la Vie

Here’s a charming place to stay in a local’s home in Mauritius. You’ll be perfectly located for visiting the west of the country!

You’ll be staying just 300m away from the large white sandy beach of Flic-en-Flac, close to shops and restaurants, and you’ll enjoy a comfortable room suitable for 2 to 4 people.

The establishment also features a large outdoor swimming pool, a garden, and a welcoming communal lounge.

Special mention for the warm and friendly welcome, the neat decoration, and the little attentions given to each guest.

Managed by Christophe and Céline, the guest house Aux Plaisirs de la Vie is one of the best places to stay in Mauritius. And all this at a very affordable price since you only need to count 49€ per night (minimum) for 2 people.

Lariad BnB

If you’re looking for a guest house in Mauritius to visit the west, I also recommend the Lariad BnB, located in the heart of Flic-en-Flac.

The house and its manager are very welcoming. The establishment has several comfortable rooms, spacious, with simple decoration, double bed, and private bathroom.

You can also enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools, an exotic garden and a large sunny terrace where breakfast is served every morning.

The beach is just a 15-minute walk away, and you are also close to shops and transport to make getting around easier.

The establishment even offers an airport shuttle service, which is super convenient!

To stay at Lariad BnB in Flic-en-Flac, expect to pay a minimum of 48€ for 2 people per night.

Guesthouses on the East Coast of Mauritius

It’s on the East coast of Mauritius where you will experience the wild and authentic side of the country.

This region is often considered the most beautiful part of the island as it is full of unspoiled beaches, picturesque villages, and preserved natural landscapes.

Among the must-see things on the East of Mauritius, don’t miss:

• Bellemare beach: spanning 10km, it is gorgeous and not very crowded during the week. It’s the ideal beach for a day of relaxation, swimming and snorkeling in the turquoise and clear lagoon.
• Boat trip to Île aux Cerfs: this is THE must-do sea outing on the East coast. Head to the small paradise islet located a few hundred meters opposite the shore. You will be ideally situated to explore the East coast, particularly to discover Île aux Cerfs, as boat shuttles leave straight from the beach or the village’s landing stage.

You’ll stay in a large double room with an ensuite bathroom and balcony, overlooking the garden and pool.

Le Gîte des Acacias

About 20 minutes from Mahébourg, you can unpack your bags at this welcoming guest house run by Isabelle and Dimitri.

The rooms, with ensuite bathrooms and garden views, are warm, comfortable, and decorated with simplicity. Choose from either a double or triple room.

In a family atmosphere, you can also enjoy the lovely flower garden, the swimming pool, and the terrace.

Throughout your stay, you will be spoiled by attentive hosts who will prepare delicious meals and go out of their way to make you comfortable and advise you on things to do.

If you’re looking for a true experience of sharing with the locals in Mauritius, this is the ideal place!

The rate for a night for two people starts at 50€.

Villa Bella

Stay at Villa Bella to be close to Blue Bay Beach and easily discover all the Southeast!

Situated 50m from the beach, this guest house in Mauritius with sea views offers several double or triple rooms.

There’s also a villa section designed for groups that can accommodate up to 14 people.

The house is charming, bright, and colorful, with impeccable cleanliness. You’ll love the beautiful garden, the common lounge, kitchen, and the lovely sunlit terrace.

The location is ideal as you’ll be 3km from Mahébourg, 5 minutes from Pointe d’Esny, 15 minutes from Vallée de Ferney, and 15 minutes from the airport.

The hostess, Manuella, is extremely kind and will take pleasure in pampering you with a big smile throughout your stay.

For a night at Villa Bella, expect to pay at least 70€ for 2 people.

La Case Mama

Here’s my favorite place to stay with the locals on Mauritius island: La Case Mama!

This beachfront guest house offers the chance to sleep on Pointe d’Esny Beach, in one of three beach bungalows.

These consist of small thatched-roof huts set up directly on the sand just meters from the sea!

Each bungalow includes a double bed and a small adjoining bathroom.

The guesthouse also has several rooms inside the family home.

Every morning, a breakfast is served in the communal dining room, to be shared with other travelers.

A lovely place for a relaxing stay, while being perfectly located to explore the Southeast of Mauritius!

Guesthouses near Le Morne Brabant (South West of Mauritius)

During your stay in Mauritius, be sure to also spend a few days in the Southwest.

Emblematic of the region is the Morne Brabant mountain, full of natural sites to explore and sporting activities to do.

In Southwest Mauritius, you can:

• Enjoy the stunning Morne Beach, located right at the foot of the mountain in a paradisiacal setting.

Here’s a brand-new guesthouse, located in the village of Morne. You are just a 10-minute drive away from the starting point of the Morne hike and 1km from the beautiful La Prairie Beach.

You will stay in the family house where the entire floor is reserved for you.

So, you’ll have a large space with a bedroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom, and a large balcony at your disposal.

The decor is simple and modern, very tastefully done.

The 2 double rooms with views of the sea or mountain are comfortable and nicely decorated.

Add to that the hospitality of the hosts and you have a perfect guesthouse for your stay in the South-West of Mauritius!

A night for 2 people at Residence Au Bout du Morne is priced around €50.

Tam Studio

Tam Studio accommodation can be found in the village of La Gaulette, between Le Morne and Chamarel.

The location is thus truly ideal for exploring the South-West region of the island.

This is more of a cottage than a traditional guesthouse. The establishment offers several studios for rent with a room for 2 people, bathroom, and kitchenette. Some have a sea view.

The owners are welcoming and very friendly, even offering an airport shuttle service.

You can dine in the house’s restaurant and also enjoy the garden, terrace, and barbecue facilities. Bicycles can also be rented on the premises.

Cleanliness and comfort are impeccable, and you have all the amenities nearby (supermarket 5 minutes walk, restaurants, and snack bars close by…).

Expect to pay a minimum of €50/night for a studio for 2 people.

Sunset Villa

Sunset Villa is also located in the village of La Gaulette. It’s the guesthouse to choose if you’re traveling to Mauritius with family or friends.

The accommodation is divided into 3 apartments of varying sizes, one of which has 3 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 10 people.

Set in a peaceful environment, the villa is beautifully maintained. The cleanliness is impeccable, the decor is charmingly typical of Mauritius, and you’ll find all the comfort you need.

You’ll appreciate the warm welcome, the outdoor pool, the terrace, the sea view, and the hearty breakfast.
